About Pols Piece Holiday Apartments

A Brief History of Pols Piece:

The flats were originally a bungalow, bought by my Father-in-law's Father and Mother in 1938. They converted it to a nine bedroomed Guest House in 1939.

During the war it was used as a family billet for RNAS St Merryn servicemen and their families for five years.
It was run as a Guest House for a further 25 years by Mr and Mrs Olivey, senior. It was then taken over by Ron & Pat (my Parents-in-law) and run for a further 7 years as a Guest House.

In 1971 Ron & Pat converted the Guest House into self catering holiday flats, and it has been run as a family business ever since.

Why the name POLS PIECE?

The land on which Pols Piece was built was a piece of meadowland. On this land a horse named Pol was kept, hence the piece of land became known as Pols Piece.

Pols Piece is now owned and run by Jo and Pete Olivey. It is a delightful, spacious house standing in private gardens overlooking the North Cornwall coast, which is designated an area of outstanding natural beauty. Trevone is an idyllic Cornish village offering a Post Office/General Store & Tea Rooms with Gift Shop, Church, Chapel, Village Pub, Beach Store and Public Toilets.

Each apartment has panoramic views of the sea from Porthmissen, Trevone's sandy beach, round to Trevose Head. It's only a 5/10 minute walk via footpaths to the natural swimming pool in Trevone's Rocky Beach and on to Porthmissen.
